Our wonderful volunteers are the driving force of our efforts, as a volunteer, you will be assisting a small grassroots organization that receives limited international funding. Volunteering with HYCF can be a great way to build up your resume through learning new skills while experiencing Malawian culture. Volunteer in Malawi through our organization & Enjoy free WIFI - a highly reputable local organization that hosts international volunteers across a series of well-coordinated programs in Karonga and Mzuzu. We offer cost-effective, safe, and trusted programs that range from childcare, women and youth empowerment,English teaching, medical opportunities to Law & Legal internships.
Our ongoing projects are based in Northern Malawi, dubbed "the gateway" to the country's exquisite national parks. With durations ranging from 2-24 weeks throughout the year, our volunteers receive comprehensive pre-departure support, airport pickup, orientation, daily breakfast and dinner, comfortable accommodation, and valuable local support.

ON ARRIVAL
Once you have confirmed your placement, you can book your flight to arrive at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe. Depending on your project location, a staff representative will meet you at the airport and take you to your base, which could be a volunteer guest house or a host family. Malawi has great air links with many international carriers including its national airline, Malawi Airlines, which serves various European, Asia-Pacific, USA, and African destinations.
ORIENTATION:
Your volunteer orientation is scheduled for the day after arrival. It provides an overview of the project's mission and expectations and familiarizes you with the local community and project site. A presentation by the project coordination team, after your arrival, will ensure you are well-prepared for your volunteering experience.

Our key focus is on promoting the welfare of vulnerable children in Africa, and to strengthen their capabilities.
